Healing Gems is a Los Angeles-based six-piece exotica band known for its vibrant, genre-spanning sound. Austin, Texas-born Gary Clark Jr. is a Grammy Award-winning guitarist, singer and songwriter known for his distinct style of blues-rock that weaves soul, funk, and R&B subtly through traditional blues and rock.

After Eric Clapton discovered him at 26 and invited him to play the Crossroads Guitar Festival, Clark catapulted onto the national scene, and released his major label debut, "Blak & Blu," just a year later.

Two years later, he won his first Grammy Award for "Please Come Home" (2014) in the Traditional R&B category, and another in 2020 for "This Land" in the Rock category.

Clark has shared stages with legends such as The Rolling Stones and B.B. King, but it's his own guitar-driven 21st century blend of Black American Music that fuses Americana with punk and hip-hop through emotional solos and raw soul vocals that makes him one to watch.

At nearly 90 years old, Buddy Guy remains a singular force in American music. Fresh off earning his ninth Grammy® Award in 2025 for Best Traditional Blues Album (Ain’t Done with the Blues), the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee and one of the last living architects of electric blues will celebrate a historic milestone with the Buddy Guy 90 Tour, featuring select headline performances across North America in summer 2026.

Following his widely celebrated Damn Right Farewell and Damn Right Encore tours, Buddy Guy continues to defy expectations, proving that the blues is not only alive, it’s thriving. The Buddy Guy 90 Tour honors a career that has shaped generations of musicians while showcasing the fire, emotion, and authenticity that have defined his live performances for more than seven decades.

Shea Siraj (formerly Shea Pierre) is a New Orleans–born pianist, composer, producer, and educator whose sound reflects the deep musical traditions of his hometown while pushing them forward. He began playing music at age four in church and with his family’s gospel group, later honing his craft at the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA) under mentors including Ellis Marsalis and Jason Marsalis. Pierre went on to study Jazz Studies at the Oberlin Conservatory, developing a style that blends jazz, gospel, blues, hip-hop, and global influences into a voice that is both rooted and contemporary.

A respected figure on the New Orleans music scene, Shea leads his own ensembles and performs regularly at major cultural venues and festivals. He has worked with and alongside notable artists such as Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah, Donald Harrison, Weedie Braimah & the Hands of Time, and Fatoumata Diawara, among others. Through performance, composition, and community-centered projects, Shiraj continues to use music as a tool for storytelling, healing, and cultural connection.

This evening, Shea presents one of his acclaimed solo piano shows.

Amina Scott is an upright and electric bassist, composer, and educator.  Currently based in New Orleans, Amina has been a bassist for many musicians on the New Orleans music scene, as well as abroad. She has performed with artists such as Dee Dee Bridgewater, Jazzmeia Horn, Chief Xian Atunde Adjuah, Don Vappie, David Murray, Johnny Vidacovich, Joanne Bracken, Nicholas Payton, Herlin Riley, and Germaine Bazzle. She was also part of the 2017 Ravinia Jazz Program cohort under the direction of Rufus Reid, Billy Childs, and Nathan Davis.

Amina continues to forge her own path as a trailblazing artist, ranging from many musical influences, she is able to express her journey into Black womanhood and capture the trials and tribulations of her career thus far. While staying true to the musical lineage as well as herself, Amina is able to captivate audiences around the world with her music. Her debut album Where The Wild Seed Grows is out now.

Giulia Coba is a vocalist, guitarist and composer from São Paulo, Brazil. Her compositions weave genres of Brazilian music, jazz, as well as funk and R&B to tell a story of a well-rounded musician who sees the inner child as her compass.

Based in New Orleans since 2019, she has performed with local legends such as Doreen Ketchens, Leah Chase, and Herlin Riley, and taught Bossa Nova for Jazz at Lincoln Center's Swing University.

Sporty's Brass Band for two sets

The Soul Rebels are an eight-piece New Orleans brass band known for mashing up traditional jazz and marching band roots with funk, hip-hop, soul, and rock. Founded in 1991 by percussionists Lumar LeBlanc and Derrick Moss, they have become a globally touring phenomenon.

Originating from the Young Olympia Brass Band, the members decided to break away to incorporate contemporary radio hits and hip-hop into their arrangements. Performing at the iconic Uptown New Orleans club Tipitina's in 1991, Cyril Neville suggested they name their group after the Bob Marley song "Soul Rebels," cementing their new progressive direction.

The collective has since become renowned for crossing genres and performing with massive stars. They have collaborated with hip-hop and pop legends including Nas, Katy Perry, Metallica, GZA (Wu-Tang Clan), G-Eazy, and DMX. Their energetic sound has also made them a staple in film and television, scoring original music for Disney's 2023 movie Haunted Mansion and appearing on the soundtrack for Girls Trip. They have also appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and NPR's Tiny Desk.

Among several other hits, their song "Let Your Mind Be Free" remains one of the most popular New Orleans brass band staples to-date.

Catch them tonight at their monthly Frenchmen Street residency - one of only two rare opportunities these days to experience The Rebels live in a small room, the size of the ones they started out in over 30+ years ago.

Betty Shirley is a renowned jazz vocalist and visual artist based in New Orleans known for her rich, expressive voice and improvisational style that blends jazz, blues, R&B, and bossa nova. Originally from Jackson, Mississippi, and raised in Chicago, she studied music in New York before settling in New Orleans in the early 1990s. She has performed at iconic locals venues like Snug Harbor and global festivals including the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and Essence Fest, sharing stages with legends such as Ellis Marsalis and Benny Green. Honored as a Jazz All-Star by New Orleans Magazine and a Gambit Weekly Magazine Big Easy Award winner, Shirley has released several acclaimed albums, including Unveiled, Close Your Eyes, and With the Red Organ Trio, solidifying her legacy as a vital force in the city’s jazz scene.

Victoria Doutón is a composer and multi-instrumentalist from Montevideo, Uruguay. She studied classical flute at the National Conservatory of Music in Montevideo as well as the Montevideo University School of Music. She spent time in different countries like Venezuela, Ecuador, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, and Brazil. After a few years in Rio de Janeiro, she went to the USA. She lived in Austin for a little while since she started collaborating with world-renowned international musicians. After a few months, she made her way to New Orleans to be fully immersed in the rich musical culture that is the foundation of American music. She’s been in New Orleans for five years and is currently recording her first album. Her travels inspired her to write music that blends Afro-South American rhythms and contemporary jazz. In addition to flute, she also plays guitar and percussion.

She presents her trio for this mid-day lunch getaway on Friday afternoon.

Karen Shiraishi is a British-Japanese pianist and composer based in New Orleans. Celebrate the roots and pathways of the Black music diaspora in this show, featuring talents from New York, New Orleans and West Africa.

Family Affair, a new album by Senegalese bassist and composer Alune Wade in collaboration with New Orleans's Neighborhood Story Project, is rooted in Afro-Atlantic memory and contemporary dialogue. In the fall of 2026, it will be released alongside their documentary film TUKKI: From the Roots to the Bayou and accompanying book A Family Affair: Conversations Across the Atlantic (University of New Orleans Press). Building on the acclaimed album New African Orleans (2025), which drew widespread praise for its fluid dialogue between West African traditions, contemporary jazz, and Louisiana heritage, Family Affair has the feel of a reunion — one that stretches across centuries of shared and scattered memory. It is not a tribute project. It is a celebration of what these connections actually sound like when musicians on both sides of the Atlantic meet in a room.

With West Indian roots and a NYC upbringing emerges faiith, the current generation's newest voice that amplifies the in-between. Hailing from deep-seeded jazz study and pulling from foundational R&B culture, lives the compositions and eclectic energy and presence of faiith. Appearing on her debut album, Answer to Love, showcases genre bending artists and collaborations with kyngstxnn and donSMITH blending the sounds of Chicago, L.A and NYC into one seamless storyline. faiith’s emergence into the industry marks a turning point in self-development and an effortless blend between her traditional jazz training and her unique yet familiar songwriting. Answer to Love is a culmination of stories and responses to self-love, familial - love, romantic - love as well as love for the culture and the community. Award-winning saxophonist and composer James Brandon Lewis, a Jazz Generations Initiative (JGI) Continuum Fellow, presents a three-night residency at Roulette as part of his 2026 fellowship. The series brings together improvisers, poets, musicians, and multidisciplinary artists from across media and generations.

This evening’s performance will feature a series of solo sets by James Brandon Lewis, flutist/composer Nicole Mitchell, cellist/vocalist Janel Leppin, singer/producer Jenna Camille, trombonist/composer Kalia Vandever, Grammy-winning sound chemist Val Jeanty, transdisciplinary artist Shara Lunon, and pianist/composer Alexis Marcelo.
